Sara Fakhry Ismail is a Cairo-based performance maker, visual artist, and somatics practitioner. She combines various mediums at once such as performance, publication, photography, video or audio-visual installation. She incorporates meditative qualities in her work, forging links between concrete and abstract, real and imagined, personal and social. Her work is process-based, focusing on creative processes, and collaborative methodologies. She has taught somatics and performance-making since 2014 and facilitated forum theatre since 2010 in Damascus, Cairo and London. She is ½ of GAAZ Collective, a performance and publication duo, along with Hend Elbalouty.
